The king is coming

Psalm 24 a song of David. King David was a loved one of the Lord. King in Israel for seventy years. He was a musician, poet and prophet.
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Psalms 24,1-2 (ESV)
Because God created the whole earth, he comes with power to take possession of his property.
The psalm writer asks:
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place?
Psalms 24,3 (ESV)
The answer:
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Psalms 24,4-6 (ESV)
They are people who need salvation; You receive righteousness; and the blessing is a gift from God. They are people who align themselves with God and seek his closeness in prayer.
If searching has a sanctifying power, what sanctifying power lies in finding! The desire for community has a cleansing effect!
The king wants to move in, your highest majesty!
Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Psalms 24,7-10 (ESV)
The question: who is the King of Honor? his personality?
- his essence?
- his office?
- his work?
What parentage, what rank does he accompany? The answer comes in a mighty wave of heavenly music.
Jesus is the Lord, the Mighty King:
- strong and mighty in contention
- Lord of hosts
- Lord of men and angels
- Lord of the Universe
- Lord of all worlds
Our tension remains. The advent expectation – see it is coming!
In the fulfillment of the New Testament, Jesus of Nazareth, God himself, comes out of the middle of all of Israel’s history into the middle of his people and into the middle of the world.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9,9 (ESV)
Today Jesus is asking to be let in, to open the door of our hearts.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3,20 (ESV)
