Message of Christmas Light
The Advent and Christmas seasons are characterized by many lights: the shopping streets light up. The living room lights up. Even when the Christmas tree is out of fashion, branches are lit with festive warm candlelight. Christmas has to do with light, but unfortunately it is missing in many hearts.
And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, . 2 Peter 1:19 (ESV)
1. The prophetic word a light
The fulfilled prophecy is the proof of the correctness of the Word of God. Long before the event, prophets prophesied what man's ingenuity could never have foreseen or foretold.
Isaiah sees Israel in oppressive darkness, but he says that the time of darkness and hopelessness will come to an end, and announces a great light that will shine brightly upon those who are without hope.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:5-6 (ESV)
2. Fulfilled prophecy in the light of God
When God's Son was born, an angel of God appeared to the shepherds in the field. Light shone around her. The message was clear:
Great joy for all people, because today the long-awaited savior was born. It is Christ the Lord.
In the midst of the oppressive darkness, the light of hope shines. The long-awaited savior has appeared in power. Now the shepherds were surrounded by countless angels praising God. They brought greetings of peace; Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
Saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:2 + 9-11 (ESV)
They followed the rising morning star and found the true light of God - in Jesus Christ - who now became their Savior.
3. Jesus the great light of the world
Jesus began his activity on earth out of love for all people.
The bystanders asked a dying man of God whether he still knew them. The answer came promptly: “It is dark before my eyes, but here” - he put his hand on his heart - “here there is light in abundance!” Then he added: “Help me, Jesus Christ!” and passed away.

3. Jesus the great light of the world
Jesus began his activity on earth out of love for all people.
- He healed those born blind and gave them sight
- He freed prisoners
- He searched for the lost and brought them to safety
- He gave water of life to those who were thirsty
- He helped widows and orphans get their rights.
The bystanders asked a dying man of God whether he still knew them. The answer came promptly: “It is dark before my eyes, but here” - he put his hand on his heart - “here there is light in abundance!” Then he added: “Help me, Jesus Christ!” and passed away.
Especially at Christmas time, when people are surrounded by an excessive glow of light, many people feel the longing to get to know the true and genuine.
I wish all readers that you accept Jesus Christ into your life and experience the divine light in abundance! Blessed Christmas!
